1967 P Washington Quarter

Coin Dealer Insight: 1967 saw a further push to extricate silver coinage from circulation with some 1.5 billion 1967 Washington quarters produced. Again, due to such high production, values for 1967 Washington quarters are 'common'. Also of note, regardless of where a quarter was struck, no mint marks were used for 1965. 1966 and 1967 quarters and no proof sets were struck in 1965, 1966 or 1967 as well.

Value: Can usually be found and sold for somewhere between $0.26-$12.50 price dictated by condition, certification, and current demand. Other factors include location, inventory, and urgency of sale.

Coins in 1965 1966 and 1967 had mint marks, although they were produced at all 3 mints. They put the mint marks back starting in 1968. . In 1967, some of the Canadian dimes and quarters were minted in 80% silver while the remainder were minted in 50% silver. In 1968, some of the Canadian dimes and quarters were minted in 50% silver while the remainder were minted in 99.9% nickel. The nickel versions will stick to a magnet. I have a 1967 quarter with a doubling error. Looks like the words LIBERTY are slightly bigger in size and the reverse side the letters UNIT in united.

Additional Info: The 1967 Quarter is made of a nickel jacket over a copper core. These are much cheaper for the US mint to issue than coins with any real value. The current metal value for a quarter is.06 cents. More of the Same. In 1965–1967 cupro-nickel coins bore no mint mark; quarters minted in 1968–1979 were stamped with a 'D' for the Denver mint, an 'S' for the San Francisco mint (proof coins only), or blank for Philadelphia. Starting in 1980, the Philadelphia mint was allowed to add its mint mark to all coins except the one-cent piece.
